Prayers for Avery!

Many of you who read this blog are either related to the Paauwe's or know them through our family. You can read about their story at their blog www.thepaauwereport.wordpress.com. Their daughter has HME, which causes her to have seizures. She has aleady undergone 3 major brain surgeries, and all three have helped Avery tremendously!! However, in January Avery started having more serious seizures and their family made the decision to have a 4th brain surgery. There was a small piece of tissue that was left during the 3rd brain surgery (she had a hemispherectomy, which means the "bad" half of her brain was removed). Her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, and the Paauwe's could definitely use your prayers. Their family has amazing faith and talking to Holly on Sunday they all seem at peace with the decision to go through with a fourth surgery. They have prayed about it and truly feel that it is Avery's only chance at a better life. With any sugery, but especially with brain surgery, there are lots of risks. They are spending the day today simply enjoy their two children, but in the morning they will have to hand their precious baby girl over to the surgeons. I simply cannot imagine what that must feel like to have to do that once, let alone 4 times. We know that the Lord will be holding little Avery tightly and comforting her tomorrow during the surgery, but please shower this family with your prayers also!! If you want to pray for them by name, their names are Jon, Holly, Caiden and Avery. Thank you and I'll try to post an update once Holly is able to update everyone!
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8)

  3. Thanks ladies! She is in surgery as we speak. Melanie-has Andy heard of the doctor who is doing Avery's surgery in Cleveland? Her previous surgeries were at John Hopkins in Baltimore.
