Another Good Night

Brad and I stayed at the hospital last night. They have a family suite that parents of children in the NICU are allowed to stay in so they can be close to their children. We were able to spend some time with him last night after we put Brady to bed. He had a stable evening, which in his doctor's opinion is a great evening. We were able to talk to his doctor's during rounds this morning. They said that their plan at this point is to keep him stable and not make any changes. With typical pulmonary hypertension cases, they start to see consistent stats at some point during days 7-10. Today is day 6 for Cole. That means that hopefully at some point next week we will start to see his numbers stay consistently in the 300's, which will allow them to begin to back down his oxygen in take from the ventilator. We asked them if we were in the clear from having to do ECHMO and they said that you aren't in the clear until we are able to successfully start backing down the oxygen. So he is still in a very volatile state right now, but he is stable which is all that we can ask for at this point. Keep praying for stability and for the nurses and doctor's that are taking care of them. We always knew Riley was a special place, but we feel very blessed to live so close to such a wonderful organization and amazing doctors and nurses. We are blessed!
