We had the most wonderful surprise when we walked into Cole's room tonight. They had taken him off of the ventilator! Yeah!!! It was a really emotional moment because we have waited so long for this. (He had been on some form of ventilator since Wednesday March 11th.) Here are some pictures of him with no tube in his mouth. We still didn't get to hold him tonight because they wanted to make sure he will be stable with just the oxygen in his nose. They did a blood gas at 9pm and his numbers were better than when they first took him off of the ventilator. That shows them that he is doing ok. We are hoping to get to hold him tomorrow. I will upload pictures of that soon! Keep praying that he continues to progress as quickly as he has the last 48 hours. We are so blessed!
